As the hub of the Greenhorn Valley, Colorado City, sits at approximately 6000 ft., and is blessed by the majestic Greenhorn Mountain ascending over an elevation of 12,000 ft, to the west; Greenhorn Mountain is the highest point in the Wet Mountains of southern Colorado. The massive mountain can be seen from Colorado Springs, Pueblo, and Trinidad and all along Interstate 25 rising nearly 7,000 feet above the surrounding area. Pikes Peak sits to the North and the Spanish Peaks sit in the south.
Colorado City is visited yearly by people from all over, for not only the views of the mountains, but for the many recreational activities found here; such as, golfing, hiking, fishing, camping, horseback riding and bird watching.
