Colorado City Parks and Recreation

Welcome to Colorado City Parks and Recreation

As the hub of the Greenhorn Valley, Colorado City sits at approximately 6000 feet, and is blessed by the majestic Greenhorn Mountain ascending over an elevation of 12,000 feet to the west. Greenhorn Mountain is the highest point in the Wet Mountains of southern Colorado. The massive mountain can be seen from Colorado Springs, Pueblo, Trinidad and all along Interstate 25 rising nearly 7,000 feet above the surrounding area. Pikes Peak sits to the North and the Spanish Peaks sit to the south.

Colorado City is visited yearly by people from all over, for not only the views of the mountains, but for the many recreational activities found here, such as, golfing, hiking, fishing, camping, horseback riding and bird watching.

Colorado City Parks and Recreation operates many programs to promote recreation in the valley. The Parks and Recreation Department is responsible for maintenance of the parks in Colorado City which include Lake Beckwith, Greenhorn Meadows Park and Campground and the Colorado City Pool. We strive to provide the community with safe and enjoyable recreation in a beautiful setting that we call home.
